The 13 year Old Scout Single Barrel is my favorite bourbon. I prefer higher corn bourbons yielding that cherry candy finish and this one is 84% corn. When i recently found out it is sourced from Dickel's, i got very excited about the idea of being able to purchase a similar bourbon that is readily available, while the Old Scout is very hard to find - and not cheap on the secondary market. I immediately looked up their product line to educate myself and figured the 13 year old bottled-in-bond would be the logical match. Boy was i wrong. They could not be anymore different to each other. No resemblance whatsoever. So what is going on here? Is Smooth Ambler doing something to these barrels prior to bottling? I would be very grateful to anyone who can de-mystify this for me!

I just found 6 bottles of this fine stuff.

I have never seen Two Star, but I really like Very Old Barton 100. OGD is nowhere to be found where I live. I also love that there are different results each time - I have found that my tastes keep changing from day to day. fun video, thanks!

Palettes are all different because I can not abide Jim Beam products. I drank a lot of white label when I was young so that’s probably it. I much prefer Wild Turkey, Heaven Hill, and Four Roses. But hey maybe it’s time to revisit. I do like Ild Grand Dad but that’s really a separate product with different yeast and mashbill. I didn’t care for Old Tub either

Total Wine in Indy has this for $116 plus tax now. As interesting as it sounds I'm not paying over $100 for it. Thanks for the honest and thorough review.
